The RHS Girls’ XC team finished a strong 3rd place last Thursday at the the 2009 KingCo Championships.  Their times and places follow:

This week’s all-city meet featuring the Roughriders, Ballard, and Garfield will be the final KingCo meet before the KingCo League meet on October 22.  This week, the meet is on Wednesday at Lincoln Park and will start around 4 pm.  Come and cheer on the girls!

The Roughrider girls finished fourth place at yesterday’s Hole in the Wall Invitational at Lakewood High School near Marysville. The JV girls finished 8th, but only 15 points behind 5th place team Holy Names. It was a beautiful day for a meet and eight girls turned in PRs for the 5K distance. Results are entered on the Athletic.net Website for RHS.

A wonderful, but slightly chilly evening it was as the RHS girls’ competed at the Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville for the 3rd annual Tomahawk Twilight Meet. Many girls finished as the sun was fading behind the horizon.  Plentiful  PRs were reported. The JV girls placed 6th overall (out of 13) and the Varsity girls placed 10th (out of 23). State champs Eastlake won the meet for the varsity girls.  Also an outstanding performance done by Lucy Cheadle who ran a blazing 18:58 and placed 5th!

Saturday night, Oct. 3, the Roughrider girls will head to Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville to compete in the Tomahawk Twilight Invitational Meet. The bus will leave RHS at 2pm and return around 9pm.

Here are the scheduled race times:

4:45 PM — HS “OPEN” RACE
5:30 PM — Boys’ Junior Varsity
6:05 PM — Girls’ Junior Varsity
6:40 PM — Boys’ Varsity
7:10 PM — Girls’ Varsity

Admission is charged for this meet: $4 for adults, $2 for children and $10 for families.

Spectator Parking will be at Grace Academy which is across the street from the golf course, Cedarcrest Middle School, Marysville Bethlehem Church (South of the Course) and Grove Elementary (also South of the Course).

Another beautiful fall day at Lake Sammamish State Park for the Bellevue Invitational. The Roughrider girls’ had a great day beginning under overcast skies and then changing to blue sky to cap off the day. PRs were plentiful. Lucy Cheadle turned in the team’s best individual time, 19:11! Overall the team placed 16th. Thirty-one teams competed. Perennial running powerhouse Eisenhower of Yakima won the varsity meet. It was 85 degrees yesterday afternoon at Kirkland’s Big Finn Hill Park, but that didn’t stop the Roosevelt Girls from performing dazzling 5K runs.  Garfield, Inglemoor and Liberty (Issaquah) competed against the green and gold.  Meet results should be on athletic.net soon.  Here’s a link to some pictures taken by a RHS parent at the meet.

This week’s meet will be hosted by Inglemoor High School on Wednesday, 9/23, at Big Finn Hill Park in Kirkland.  For directions to the meet from RHS, click here. In addition to Inglemoor, Garfield and Liberty HS will be competing.  The meet will start at 4:00 pm with the girls’ JV race.
