Rider Runner News – 9/27/15

What a week for RHS Girls XC!

Cowen Meet:  Our girls put tremendous effort and heart into their race at Cowen Park on Wednesday, running a very challenging course. The winner from Holy Names was 3rd in state last year and will be contesting for the win this year in Pasco.  THANK YOU to all the volunteers and snack team. That was the smoothest meet we’ve hosted yet and it was due to your help!

Bellevue Invitational:  Coaches Megan and Liz did a excellent job at Bellevue on Saturday, where a number of girls ran a PR time. And the weather was sure a lot better than the monsoon we faced two years ago at this meet!

Nike Portland XC:  We had a beautiful sunny day in Portland to run over hay bales and around an old golf course at Portland Meadows. What a sight to see so many young athletes competing and supporting one another in a great setting. We had very good results with several girls placing in the top tier in their race.

No Weekday Meet This Week:  This is a BYE week for the team, meaning no league meet. I encourage the girls to stay ahead of their homework, keep up on sleep and wash their hands! We have a cold going around.

Next Saturday: TWILIGHT XC INVITATIONAL, Saturday, October 3rd.

Bus departs at 12:15 from RHS. Most of the team is in the open event at 2:45; Frosh/soph at 3:15 (7 athletes); Junior/senior at 4:20 (7 athletes); Varsity at 6:30 (7 athletes).

There is an entry fee of $5 per person or $15 per family.
